The Woman Boss Children’s and Coffee Table Books

The purpose of this project is to ensure that Gambian stories can be shared across society. Building knowledge, inspiring young people, and celebrating individual achievements towards the common good. This project is the first of its kind in The Gambia and involves the development of two books. 

1. Children’s Picture Book (target aged 6-12 yrs.) - With bright engaging illustrations and age-appropriate text, children will discover a new icon on each page. These women have careers spanning from agriculture, finance, governance, technology, fashion, sports, education and more. Pioneers and outliers from the Gambian community who are often unknown, will be celebrated. 
2. Pioneering Gambian Women Coffee Table book - This book will include high resolution images of the Female Gambian Icons and provide their backstory, sharing their journey which led their incredibly achievements within their communities and nationwide.
